14/07/08 Wind Turbine Victory - Sussex Enterprise
Announcement by the government to give the go-ahead for a 70
metre wind turbine
at Glyndebourne opera house near Lewes, has been welcomed by Sussex
Enterprise the
chamber of commerce for the county.
Mark Froud, Chief Executive at Sussex Enterprise said, “The secretary of
state has made
absolutely the right decision over this development and clearly
understands the importance of
encouraging businesses to reduce their energy consumption. The go-ahead
for the wind
turbine will send out a really positive message to other businesses that
want to tackle climate
change and still remain competitive. Glyndebourne should be
congratulated for taking such a
bold step with its application and showing its commitment to introducing
renewable energy
solutions for its business needs.”
“The business community is often represented as unsympathetic to the
needs of the
environment and as being a key contributor to climate change. As a
representative of
businesses across Sussex I can honestly say this is simply not true.
Businesses are
constantly telling us they want to introduce energy saving solutions to
become more
sustainable.”
